To foster the development of more world-class athletes for New Zealand in Olympic and Commonwealth Games sports.
To fulfil this mission the Institute has the following objectives:
1. Detecting, identifying and supporting young talent with potential.
2. Supporting and developing the coaching of that talent at the school age and junior level.
